OOTY Trip

I wonder how I missed to post about the Ooty trip.. That was some nine months back. There came a chance to freak out in and around ooty for three days, in the name of classmate’s sister’s wedding which was on a fine Monday, May 28. The plan was to roam about on that Saturday and Sunday and then give attendance at the wedding and then roam a while and leave.

On this evening of a Friday, May 25, it was raining cats and dogs as I hurried through Bangalore central for some last minute shopping. It took me roughly an hour for completing the purchase and gosh!! It was still raining. No autowala was ready for hire. Having left with the only option of using my femur, tibia and toes, I walked back to office, along the residency road and m.g.road footpaths. I took my vehicle and I ‘pepped’ towards home in the heavy rain. At last, I reached home but the clock was cruel enough to show a big 9. Bloody, the bus was scheduled to arrive at around 10.30. Dried my clothes, stuffed my bag with whatever I could see in those minutes. In between, was getting messages from my friend, forwards and enquiries if I had started, if I had recharged my mobile. As it sounded like really an exciting trip for us after a long gap, interaction was scaling great heights. I also made efforts to show tat m tensed, hurrying up..etc., to my friend. Bid my roommates, rushed outside (again in rain), my cargos getting wet and muddy.. I reached the travels office, tensed and excited. After getting settled in the bus, I was busy sending cry-cry messages to my friend, that there is a stout guy seated next to me. My friend at the other end was happily sending me one more bad news that only one room was available at the guest house at coorg, till the next evening. Gosh!! I am going to have a tough time.. I was to join my friends @ coimbatore and then head towards ooty J

There was some problem in the bus.. some hotch potch.. dispute between the passengers of two buses.. after that hotch potch was over, I got down at Gandhipuram, CBE. Saw my friends. Went to Gowrisankar Annapoorna, stuffed in something. Then I got to chit chat with my friend at city bus stand while others were in search of some taxi which would take us to ooty.
We got a taxi.. me seated in front by the side of driver while the other guys were behind.. playing cards.. How mean the guys are.. hmmm…we reached ooty.. we got a guest house arranged.. It was at a very beautiful location. I haven’t seen such beautiful valleys before in my life. We ate something.. went out for sight seeing.. enjoyed and came back. The guys were already ready with the drinks. The rest of the friends also joined in the mean time. Most of them were steady even after having a full bottle of beer. It was tom who was a bit unsteady when he started having his second round of beer.
Obviously, It was time for some really good and really weird philosophies and discussions. It was the first time in life I sat among people who were drinking. But it was fun to see them blabbering. Next day too, we went for sight seeing.. My thoughts were getting very poetic coz of the scenic beauty.. I managed to note down a few of them in my diary now n then. We took snaps wherever and however possible. Came back.. played antakshari.. exchanged gifts. Next day, as expected, the wedding was over before we went to the marriage hall. We gave the gift, waited for breakfast, stuffed something and started for our way back. Searched for some cabs, played antakshari, dumbcharades all the way through. We went to Mahe’s house, had a nice meal.. spent some time in the fields and started to cbe. We reached cbe and bid goodbye to each other. All the Chennai guys left. Only myself and my roommate at Bangalore was left behind. I was just recollecting the sweet haunting memories of the three day trip.. It was indeed a good break amidst the monotonous life.. Real good moments.
